Questions, answered.

Why £500 specifically?

It’s the simplest number that’s genuinely worth your time. Big enough that you’ll actively share us; small enough that we can afford to pay it on every successful referral without raising our service price. About 6-7% of our average developer commission per buyer.

Why pay at exchange and not at the first call?

Buy Assist is free, so there’s no payment to anchor your reward to earlier. Exchange of contracts is the first moment a sale becomes legally binding under UK law — that’s when our developer commission is contractually locked in, so that’s when we can confidently pay you. In practice, exchange typically happens 4-8 weeks after reservation.

How exactly will I get paid?

By bank transfer via Stripe Connect to your UK bank account. You add your account once in your dashboard. Payouts run on the 15th of every month for exchanges that cleared the previous month. The transfer usually lands within 1-3 business days.

What happens if my friend pulls out before exchange?

No payout is due. We only pay £500 once contracts are exchanged (the legally binding step). If they reserve a property but cancel before exchange, the developer doesn’t pay us, so we can’t pay you either. After exchange, sales falling through is extremely rare under UK law.

Is there a tier system, monthly cap, or limit?

No tiers. No cap. You earn £500 per successful referral, full stop. Refer one friend a year or twenty — same flat rate every time.

What about tax?

You’re responsible for declaring earnings to HMRC. We pay you gross — no tax deducted at source. If you receive £100 or more in a UK tax year, you may need to declare it on your self-assessment return. Speak to an accountant if unsure.

What is “Buy Assist” — what are my friends actually getting?

Buy Assist is our free service that helps buyers shortlist new-build homes, negotiate with developers, project-manage their mortgage and legal process, and arrange snagging inspections before keys. Your friend doesn’t pay us a penny — the developer pays us a referral fee when they complete the purchase. More on Buy Assist →

Can I refer myself or a family member?

You can refer family members, friends and colleagues — but not yourself, and not someone in your own household. We also can’t pay you on accounts you create or control. If you’re unsure, just ask — we’d rather check before than claw back later.
